You want high armor, low AC. Armor affects the special armor stat on worth, armor on equipment is distributed accordingly to its armor slot on worth. AC affects AC-apply and the lower you are the less damage you take. However, for every -1 AC you get -2 speed. So the choice is yours whether you want to be fast, or not take as much damage.
High Armor is good and Low AC is good.
